About Kelly
From numbers to expressive colour, from balance sheets to brush strokes. Kelly Savage has always lived in the space where logic and creativity meet. A self-confessed “weird kid” at school who excelled in both high-level maths and art, she was nudged into the corporate world of finance where talent with figures meant a predictable and safe career path. For years, she thrived in financial planning and later ran her own practice, but beneath the success was a quiet pull back to creativity which was the part of her identity that had always been a lifeline.
That pull became impossible to ignore after navigating post-natal depression and ongoing mental health hurdles. Art had always been Kelly’s outlet and her anchor in difficult seasons. She began to wonder: what if creativity could support others the way it supported her? Studying art therapy gave her not only personal healing but also the clarity to pursue a new path. When the chance for redundancy arose, she didn’t hesitate. She chose courage over comfort and launched Artfulness, her art therapy practice based in Windsor, NSW.
Today, Kelly blends the analytical discipline of her finance background with the compassionate guidance of an art therapist. Through Artfulness, she champions creative expression as an inclusive tool for wellbeing - one that welcomes people of all abilities, personalities, and backgrounds. Alongside her private practice, she has also worked within hospital wellness programs, using the arts to bring relief, joy, and connection to patients navigating serious illness.
Kelly’s mission is twofold: to show her daughters that success can come from passion, even in the arts, and to spark a broader cultural shift where creativity is seen not as optional, but essential. She speaks with conviction about the science of art and how the brain reacts with the art process, the myths that prevent people from engaging with it, and the potential for creativity to become a superpower in corporate spaces assisting with team building and wellbeing practices which have been proven to assist with mental health in teams, team building and overall assisting with facets like staff retention and optimising team efficiency.
Warm, supportive, and deeply passionate, Kelly is building a legacy where art is more than self-expression, it’s a pathway towards a more resilient workplace filled with belonging, inclusion and the space to express oneself without judgement.
